Budget Trip to The Park Surfing Camp in Real, Quezon

Our original plan was to visit Punta de Fabian in Tanay, Rizal but because of the fact that we didn’t have any reservations and the resort was fully-booked, we ended-up traveling to Real, Quezon which, I guess, was also a blessing in disguise because I prefer “beaches” instead of “pools.” And just like my previous escapades, this trip is also budget-friendly (we only spent less than Php2000.00) and worth blogging for.

Here are some of the photos taken during our escapade (grabbed from my Instagram):

At Balagbag Falls.

The Park is a great place for camping, salt and fresh water swimming or just relaxing. Bounded on the east by the Pacific Ocean, south by the Tignoan River and west by the Sierra Madre Mountains, makes it ideal for all kinds of outdoor recreation activities. The Balagbag Falls and Tignoan River Rafting are only a few minutes away from the PaRK. Enjoy surfing at the river mouth, beach break or north shore. Try paddle boarding or kayaking in the river or on the surf. Best of all, the seafood market is only a kilometer away.

Fees details below:
  • Entrance fees: P35/day(6am to 6pm) for adults and P25/day for kids(12y/o and under). P50/night for adults; P40/night for kids.
  • Tent Rentals: P500/tent/night.
  • Tent Pitching: P50/small tent or hammock (1-2pax); P100/med tent (3-4 pax); P150/large tent (5 pax above).

  • Surfboard rentals P200/hr

Tamilok Eating Challenge in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Here's a short video of my Tamilok eating challenge in Puerto Princesa, Palawan:

Prior to Tamilok-eating challenge, we first explored the underground river and the experience was definitely awesome!
One of my favorite photos taken during our Puerto Princesa escapade.
"Tamilok is the vernacular term for woodworms, which are found inside the trunks of rotting or fallen mangroves. The sight of these slimy, gray worms might not be quite appetizing, but they taste like oysters and best served in kinilaw. They are not exactly worms, despite their appearance." - Source

From Lola Sayong Eco Surf Camp to Mount Batulao and More: Snapshots of My 2017 Escapades

Because 2017 is about to end, I'd like to showcase some of my favorite photos, in no particular order, taken from my 2017 escapades:

The first "beach" that visited for 2017 is Lola Sayong Eco-Surf Camp in Gubat, Sorsogon. Dubbed as the "Surfing Capital of the South," this place is perfect for surfing and camping. It is a place where "you will leave as a surfer, with a new born soul, new friends and a beautiful place in mind where you are always welcome to return."

In this photo taken at the Legazpi Airport, the majestic volcano is hiding. If my memory serves me right, there's low pressure when I arrived in Legazpi and I was lucky enough that Cebu Pacific didn't cancel our flight.

So far, other than Mount Pulag, Mount Batulao is one of my favorite mountains because of it's relatively "colder air" compared to other mountains. I didn't like, though, the "collections" or "toll fees" when climbing this mountain. Uhmm...I think there were four or five? I can't recall. Haha!

Sunset at Mount Batulao is definitely unforgettable for me. Look at the photo below and you'll be amazed. Truly, God's creation is amazing!

At quick visit to Binondo to celebrate the Chinese New Years with my office mates.

Posing in front of one of the remaining Spanish-styled houses in Indang, Cavite. My office mates and I decided to drop by here before visiting Tagaytay

Buhatan River Cruise is located at Barangay Buhatan in Sorsogon. This place is perfect for river cruising and fire-fly watching.

How to Go to Clark International Airport from Metro Manila

In case you didn't you know yet, yes, Cebu Pacific flies from Clark Airport to Coron, and if you're lucky enough, you might also get a free flight from them! But, the question is "how are you gonna go there?"
Clark International Airport Departure area.
Here's the easiest and fastest way to go to Clark Airport if you're from Manila: Take a Victory Liner bus in Cubao or Pasay. Tell the driver to drop you at Dau-Mabalacat Bus Terminal in Pampanga. Fare as of this writing is Php139.00.  Travel time is approximately two hours.

Clark Airport Lounge at Dau-Mabalacat Grand Terminal in Pampanga.
At Dau Mabalacat Bus Terminal, look for the spot shown in the photo shown above and, yada, all is well. All you need to do is to fall in line (in case there's queue) and wait for the conductor to collect Php100.00 for your fare (as of this writing) to the airport. Spend another approximately twenty minutes for the jeepney ride and you'll soon find yourself at the airport's departure area. Then, you're all set for your much-awaited trip!

In my case, I booked my one-way Coron trip (Clark - Coron) with Cebu Pacific and got it free courtesy of my GetGo points. I had challenges searching online how to go to Clark Airport so I thought of coming up with this article. I hope this helps. :)

Safe travels!!!

Expansion in the Philippines: Bosch opens new business hub in Baguio

Baguio, Philippines – Bosch, a leading supplier of technology and services, officially opened its fifth business hub in the Philippines to bring its broad portfolio of consumer, commercial, and industrial solutions closer to its customers in Northern Luzon.

Located on Otek Street, this is the company’s first business hub in the northern region. The facility is equipped with a showroom, training spaces, and after-sales support for Bosch products. At present, the company’s Power Tools, Automotive Aftermarket, Building Technology, and Drive & Control division will be driving the business.

“The Baguio business hub is a testament to Bosch’s ongoing commitment to help Northern Luzon accelerate its momentum of progress,” said Richard Walker, Managing Director of Bosch Philippines. “We are optimistic that the hub will be essential to our future business growth by providing strong support to local distributors and customers, just like our other business hubs in Taguig, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro”.

Integrated products and solutions to spur vibrancy of local industries

The northern region of the Philippines holds strong growth potential in the construction, hospitality and mining industries that Bosch is able to serve with its diverse portfolio of innovative products and solutions.

With the aggressive implementation of the “Build, Build, Build” campaign announced by the government earlier this year, big-ticket infrastructure projects are on the rise and will contribute significantly to the economy of the Cordillera region. Bosch’s Power Tools division enables industry players in the construction segment to be equipped with high-performance power tools and after sales support, to drive property and real estate development initiatives.

Northern Luzon’s robust mining industry remains the hallmark of the region’s contribution to the national economic development agenda. The company’s Drive & Control division provides solutions for mobile, machinery and engineering application, factory automation as well as connected services such as condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance for mining companies. At the same time, the division also offers hydraulic technologies for hydropower & mining activities.

Bosch will also support the mining industry’s need for reliable vehicles in the transport of precious materials as well as the growing number of cars up north by providing automotive parts, diagnostic equipment, and software that caters to private, commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.

Richard Walker, Managing Director for Bosch Philippines.

Attracting an estimate of one million visitors annually, tourism is also one of Baguio City’s biggest sources of revenue, as it reinforces its bid to become a meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) destination. Through the Baguio business hub, Bosch’s Building Technology division will be better positioned to provide cutting-edge audio and conference systems as well as security and safety solutions for the region’s commercial and residential establishments.
